A quick note: Pricing is not shown in the catalog for t-shirts because it is so dependent upon how you want to decorate the shirts.  So browse the catalog for the garment you like, or just Contact Us to share what you have in mind.  Even if you don’t see something you like, Contact Us anyway and we’ll see if we can find what you need from another supplier.

Some things to consider when ordering embroidered t-shirts or screen printed t-shirts:

1) Fabric type:   100% cotton is generally considered to be more comfortable, but will shrink more and will fade faster than their 50/50 (cotton/polyester) blend cousins.  Another option is 100% polyester, moisture-wicking performance fabric t-shirts.

2) Fabric weight:  This is the weight of one square yard of the fabric material.  The higher the fabric weight, the thicker will be the fabric.  Lighter fabric weight shirts are going to feel thinner and can be sheer enough to reveal undergarments.  For 100% cotton, a 6.0 or 6.1 oz t-shirt is the most common and will feel like they have some substance.  Decent 50/50 blend t-shirts will have a fabric weight of about 5.5 oz.  “Fashion” t-shirts will likely be lower.  100% polyester moisture-wicking tees tend to be about 3.8 oz.

3)  Ladies’, youth, and mens’ cut t-shirts: There are t-shirts specially designed with infants, youth, and ladies’ forms in mind.  Ordering ladies’ cut t-shirts for the women in your group generally does not add much, if anything, to the cost of your order.

4) Manufacturer’s label:  The four most commonly used labels of t-shirts are Hanes, Gildan, Jerzees, and Port & Company, all of which are priced fairly similarly.  We also offer fashion tees and tank tops from Bella.  Most colors are available with any of the labels and they are all comparable in terms of quality.  We at I’m In Stitches, LLC tend to favor the Port & Co. t-shirts because they are both soft and economical, but it’s really a matter of customer preference.  Look in your clothes drawers for your favorite t-shirts and we will be happy to outfit your people in the shirts you prefer.

5) Screen printing vs. embroidery on t-shirts:  We can and do offer embroidered t-shirts; however, screen printing is generally a better way to decorate t-shirts for two reasons.  First, the stretchy nature of t-shirt fabrics can cause the shirt to pucker around the design even on a new t-shirt.  Second, t-shirts do tend to shrink, while embroidered designs do not shrink — in the long run a t-shirt is likely to shrink and pucker around an embroidered design.  Screen printing will tend to flex with the shirt over time, minimizing the puckering issue; however, screen printed inks can fade or crack with extended wear and tear in the washer and dryer.
