Making Asymmetry Work for your Asymmetrical Embroidered Logo

Share

Take a good look on your way to work today as all the logos you see.  Of all the logos you see, count how many are asymmetrical.  We will bet you won’t be able to count more than a handful.  Asymmetrical logos present an interesting challenge to embroider on a garment.  It is not that they cause any difficult for the embroidery machines.  The challenge is whether there may be a garment that presents a unique fit for the logo in question.

We recently had the opportunity to do embroidery work with an asymmetrical logo.  original art file It belongs to a branding agency out of Houston, Texas called Savage Brands.  Note from the firm’s identity standards that symmetry is deliberately not part of their image.  That alone draws some extra attention, does it not?

This logo presented us with a challenge in terms of finding some sample items to impress them.  We selected two pieces from a supplier based near Seattle, WA.  One was a cap — they are fairly ubiquitous and we all needed to know what this would look like on a cap.  The other was a computer bag.  But not just any computer bag.  When we spotted this computer bag, we knew it was going to be a perfect fit (see below).

Our own first requirement for any embroidered computer case is that it has to be a sturdy, quality bag that we would be willing to use to haul our own laptops all over the place.  Check!  The bag is made by OGIO, and we have nothing but good experiences producing embroidered OGIO bags, jackets, and polos.  But that wasn’t all….

See how the bag’s asymmetry is congruent with the logo’s asymmetry?  It is a computer bag that looked like it was designed from the beginning with the Savage Brands logo in mind!

There is a key for every lock.  If you go looking for a typical promotional products broker to sell you logo wear, you are likely to end up with typical items.  Typical may be sufficient, like opening the door with a sledgehammer, but may not accentuate your logo and your company image the best way possible.  Will you even know what you missed (or were made to miss)?

Spend the time to find a top quality embroidery and screen printing shop for your work apparel and logo wear.  A specialty embroidery shop spends every day looking at garment catalogs, not keychain, pen, and squeezy ball catalogs.  The specialty shop wants to find the perfect key for your lock.  That extra time the embroiderer is spending getting to know its suppliers’ entire garment catalogs will really pay off for you and your brand.
